water is compressible? I mean it might be under certain conditions but for the most part its safe to assume water isn't compressible since we use the law of continuity in many many fluid mechanics problems based on this assumption alone. The only dumbass here seems? to be you.

Supercritical fluids are already used in some spacecraft. The Apollo Service Module stored hydrogen and? oxygen for its fuel cells in supercritical form. The tanks held much more than they could with compressed gases at room temperature but took less heat to vaporize than LH2 or LOX.

I wonder which demonstration he saw 20 years ago. I saw? it done with CO2 in the British Science Museum in London about 10 years ago, and I was also fascinated. I think he uses SF6 here because CO2's critical temp is only 31.1C and can be reached on a warm day. SF6 has a critical temp of 45.5C, well above room temperature, so his demo is guaranteed to work even on a warm day.

Non-Newtonian Fluid on a Speaker Cone

Corn starch is a shear thickening non-Newtonian fluid meaning that it becomes more viscous when it is disturbed. When it's hit repeatedly by something like a speaker cone it forms weird tendrils. The video was shot at 30 fps and the speaker cone was vibrating at 30 Hz which is why there is no blur. This is the original video with the actual sound of the speaker.

Thanks for featuring a cat that was somewhat resistant to the procedure. Ithought maybe it was me. The other videos the cats must be on drugs or something. They didn't even flinch when they got stuck with the needle. My cat refused to allow me to do this. He allowed it the first day, but today? he said NO. And I have given up. I hate hurting him. Maybe I should let him go.

It should just twist off. Some drip sets have a luer lock that must be twisted (it looks like? a little ring or cap that the needle is screwed into) but most are "slip tip" which means the needle just fits on the end like a male/female adaptor system. Grasping the needle hub with pliers and twisting should remove the needle nicely. If there is a luer lock, that has to be unscrewed before the needle can be twisted off.

. We had the same problem. We have two suggestions and they worked for us. We administer the fluids in an unfamiliar location in our home. Kitty is busy checking out the new environment and not focusing on what we are doing. Our cat goes "flat" in her carrier/vet office, so we take her in her carrier to the new location in our home for her fluids. ? If this doesn't work, try giving kitty Rescue Remedy, 4 drops, in the mouth. It works immediately to calm kitty down.

If the cat tries to escape, you can try putting her? in a cardboard carrier (the kind that opens from the top) so she is more confined. If you think the needle is actually hurting her, you can try a needle with a smaller diameter (but the fluid admin will take longer).

Just try to be more careful about where you put the needle. You should still be able to bring up? the "tent" even in a very thin cat but if you aren't sure, just try to keep the needle parallel to the cat's body rather than pointing down into the cat. If the needle goes too far forward and comes out the other side of the skin just back it up a little until the bevel is all the way inside.

Thank you,? thank you, thank you! Very clear concise technique allowed me to nail it on the first try. This is a much better technique than was taught to me by the hospital tech which had me give up and resort to giving fluid by mouth every few hours, with little in results. Great video! I'd definitely recommend it to any one who has to give fluid tx. to their kitty.

I was taught by the vet tech to insert the needle on the side of that skin grab, no wonder it keeps poking through the other side on my little old kitty! This method looks much better. I was taught to keep? a slow drip which takes forever and the cat gets disgusted and bails. Good video. Il'' try it next time.

You can't use this tool for drum brakes as it compresses the weak spring in the wheel cylinders and causes air to be sucked in. That's why they show all the air in the line and not a full line like they show on the front disk. You must pump the drum brakes to? remove air or use a pressure system such as Motive. Something goofy is when the old man says; he's going to place the cap on quickly to keep air out of the system. LOL

cryotasis is nice but nowhere near this level of detail. you won't see waves crashing into rocks at a beach using this tech even on crysis 2, that would require insane hardware. anyway they could start making games using this to push the limits but developers don't want to let console players left behind, I mean extremely? behind that's why I meant we'll only see this stuff on large scale by 2015 probably on next gen consoles and pcs. well, maybe by 2013. :)

Yea, no shit it's dynamic. I hope you noticed that this is not an engineering type physics lecture, rather it's just the most? basic, simple physics. Why complicate things even further when concepts are most important?
