Per capita the US is still higher but just stating the raw numbers like that can be misleading. Still sad though when people get caught up in all of that though

@MMA94NYC Those stats are just sad. I live in Australia and we have extremely tough gun laws. I just checked our murder stats for 2010 and there were 380? murders (288 of them were manslaughter) in the entire country and only 59 of them were commited using a firearm. Feel so bad for all of the victims of senseless crime.

Your right, NYC is much larger then LA but as far as crimes, gangs, etc. Los Angeles has a big murder rate and more gangs than NYC. LA has about 10,000 to 15,000 police. BUT one thing?
